- According to the complaint, Noorani lured the actress to his residence under the pretext of discussing a film project, where she lost consciousness after drinking a beverage. She further claimed he threatened her with a recorded video.
- Under sections 64, 123, 351, and 88 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita , the Malvani Police registered a case. The victim accused the director of using the video to threaten and repeatedly assault her, while also allegedly providing contraceptive pills.
- Following his arrest, the Malvani police produced Noorani before the Borivali Holiday Court on Saturday, where the court remanded him to police custody until August 12. This facilitates the ongoing investigation.
- Allegations date back to 2016, when the actress first met the director at a Lokhandwala award function. Noorani is a well-known Bollywood filmmaker recognized for directing 'Bade Dilwala' and 'Joroo Ka Ghulam.
