Fullerton Police Respond to Bomb Threats at Four Schools, Hospital
Four schools and one hospital in Fullerton were locked down and searched with canine units after bomb threats; no explosives were found and investigations continue.
- On Thursday, the Fullerton Police Department responded to bomb threats at four schools and a hospital in Fullerton, and police said no explosive devices were found.
- The initial report arrived at Troy High School around 1:25 p.m., followed within about an hour by three more at Fullerton Union High School, Sunny Hill High School and Fern Drive Elementary School.
- Officers placed the four campuses on lockdown and used explosives-detection canines and outside agencies, working with school administrators to search buildings Thursday, police said.
- At Fern Drive Elementary School, officers remained with students and staff while parents followed evacuation procedures; just after 5 p.m., officers responded to St. Jude Medical Center, where patients were partially evacuated then allowed back after no threat was found.
- Investigators said it remains unclear whether the threats were credible, and the incidents remain under investigation as Fullerton Police Department detectives work to identify the caller.
