Moto3 rider Noah Dettwiler in hospital after horror crash in Malaysia

  • On Sunday at the Sepang International Circuit, a sighting-lap collision at the Malaysian Grand Prix forced Noah Dettwiler and Jose Antonio Rueda to be airlifted to hospital by helicopter medevac.
  • On the sighting lap, Rueda came out of turn three on the outside and collided with Dettwiler, who was traveling slowly, as a video shows both bikes breaking apart.
  • Dettwiler's father told Blick that Noah Dettwiler suffered multiple cardiac arrests, lost a lot of blood, sustained spleen and lung injuries and an open leg fracture, then underwent multiple surgeries at a Kuala Lumpur hospital.
  • The race was delayed by more than an hour, and later on Sunday Taiyo Furusato of Honda Team Asia won with Angel Piquera and Adrian Fernandez completing the podium.
  • Dettwiler's family and team asked for privacy on Instagram, saying `Noah is a true fighter, and the entire CIP Green Power team is right behind him.` They promised to keep supporters updated soon.
