TAMIL NADU, JUL 30 – Amuthavalli Manivannan secured a medical seat under the Persons with Disabilities category while her daughter scored 460 marks and plans to study in a different college.
- Chennai, Jul 31: A 49-year-old physiotherapist and her daughter cleared NEET, with the mother securing a seat at Virudhunagar government medical college under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities category.
- While preparing alongside her daughter for NEET, Amuthavalli Manivannan rekindled her long-standing dream to study medicine after more than 15 years.
- Data show Samyuktha Krupalini obtained 450 marks in NEET, while her mother Amuthavalli Manivannan scored 147 marks in NEET, both clearing the exam.
- In parallel, Samyuktha Krupalini joined the general counselling process and said, "I don't want to study in the same college with my mother. I wish to compete in the general quota and study elsewhere, maybe outside the state".
- Medical education experts note that age should never be a barrier to learning, and both are likely to begin their MBBS journeys this year, inspiring many.
