Cabinet Approves Four Multitracking Projects to Expand Railways Network in 4 States

  • The government estimates a cut in oil imports of 28 crore litres and CO2 reductions of 139 crore kg, and shares of state-owned railway companies rose by up to 6%.
  • The projects will improve access to tourist sites such as Sanchi, Satpura Tiger Reserve, Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, Hazara Falls and Nawagaon National Park while providing seamless connectivity for movement of people, goods and services.
