Mercedes-Benz trimmed its annual car sales and profit margin forecasts on Wednesday, flagging a nearly $420 million impact from U.S. tariffs in the second quarter as U.S. President Donald Trump prepared to hike import levies on EU-made cars.
The profit of Mercedes-Benz fell dramatically in the first half of the year – by 55.8 percent compared to the previous year. From 6.1 billion euros at mid-term in 2024, the profit fell to 2.7 billion euros this year.
Similar to other German automakers, Mercedes-Benz recorded significant losses in profits in the first half of the year.
