Impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and cost of living crisis were key drivers in significantly reducing food waste from British households, but wider policy and behaviour changes are urgently needed to curb food waste in line with carbon reduction and international sustainability targets, found a non-profit.
Prague residents throw away an average of 26 kilograms of food per person per year. This was shown by the Prague Food Waste project. According to researchers from Mendel University in Brno, the level of waste is mainly related to household income.
