Fallen Trees Knock Out Power to Thousands in South Charlotte

Duke Energy is now reporting a massive power outage in South Charlotte. According to Duke, several fallen tree limbs damaged power lines around Park Rd. and Carmel Rd. The largest outage occurred along Carmel Road, where 2,676 customers have been without power since 8:05 a.m. Crews are working to clear debris and repair equipment.
