'Rabid Dogs': 17yo Slashed on Face and Run over After McDonald's Incident
Police are searching for three suspects after a 17-year-old was stabbed and deliberately run over in a McDonald's drive-through attack, leaving him with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
- At the McDonald's on The Esplanade in St Kilda, a 17-year-old boy from Prahran was stabbed and struck by a car after the attack began soon after 10pm on Tuesday, and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
- After the rear-end collision, a male exited the Mazda and slashed the passenger 17-year-old boy through the car window.
- Witnesses said the Mazda occupants dumped their car, took the Kia and ran over the teen, reportedly reversing over him a second time; police later found the Kia abandoned on Fitzroy Street and were told two male occupants fled on foot.
- Victoria Police deployed uniform officers, the Critical Incident Response Team, Dog Squad, Public Order Response Team and the Air Wing in a large-scale search; no arrests have been made and authorities urged the public to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
- Investigators say the suspects are described as of African appearance, 175cm tall, wearing dark clothing, and a third male jumped fences to evade police.
