On August 24, 2016, an earthquake destroyed the Italian Amatrice. Today, many people still live in emergency shelters. They tell of their memories of what they have lost, of their despair – and of what still gives them hope.
The earthquake killed 299 people in central Italy, 237 of whom were from the village of Lazio. Commissioner Castelli: the goal is to reduce them to 3000 by the end of 2029
