Boulangers, florists... is it necessary to want to work on May 1st?

Discovering that a previously tolerated practice was in fact out of the law, bakers and florists, supported by a large part of the politicians, asked to have their employees work on the occasion of the Labour Day.

The professional association of bakers-pastrymen invites parliamentarians to authorize the work of their voluntary employees on 1 May. An initiative supported by the Ministry of Labour itself.

After verbalizations in 2024, the bakers were worried that they could not open on 1 May. The Florist representative expressed the same fears on Thursday, 17 April. Although the law prohibited employees from working that day, the government was in favour of legislative change.
