- Kevin Andrew Bacon, a 51-year-old resident of Manhattan, Montana, received a prison sentence of seven years in 2025 after pleading guilty to charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine.
- In June 2022, law enforcement started probing a drug trafficking operation centered around Butte, Whitehall, and Manhattan that involved mailing methamphetamine from California to Montana.
- The investigation led to early January 2023 arrests of several conspirators, seizure of about 13 pounds of methamphetamine, and the February 28 arrest of Bacon after he picked up a package containing 873.5 grams of methamphetamine.
- During questioning, Bacon acknowledged that an acquaintance from Whitehall involved in selling methamphetamine requested him to accept a package at his post office box, which he was aware contained drugs.
- The sentence includes five years of supervised release and was announced by U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme under U.S. District Judge Dana L. Christensen’s authority.
