CINCINNATI, Ohio — A man in Southwest Ohio who was told his aging dog needed to be euthanized instead strangled the pet because he did not want to pay a $500 fee, authorities say.Richard Orth, 59, of Cincinnati, could be sentenced to up to a year in prison if he’s convicted of a felony charge of cruel treatment of companion animals, according to a news release from Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich.
