The man in his 30s was treated at the scene and died in hospital, while Gardaí seek witnesses and dash-cam footage.
On Sunday, a man in his 30s died at the hospital after swimming across the River Liffey to Chapelizod Road following an alleged assault Saturday night at the War Memorial Gardens.
Gardaí in Ballyfermot are investigating "a number of incidents" that occurred around the War Memorial Gardens in Islandbridge and along the Chapelizod Road on Saturday night, a Garda spokesperson explained.
Personnel from the Dublin Fire Brigade treated the man at the scene before he was removed by ambulance to the hospital, where he subsequently passed away; a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with camera or dash-cam footage who travelled between 9:00pm and 10:45pm on Saturday to contact Clondalkin Garda Station at 01 666 7600 or the Garda Confidential Line.
A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to lead the inquiry, as police urge anyone with relevant information to come forward to any Garda Station.
