Three traffic accidents occurred in Lažany in the Blanensko region before the holidays on the busy Brno-Svitavy road, which runs right through the center of the village. Almost 20,000 cars pass through the village on weekdays. Although the accidents ended without fatalities, one of them swept away a bus stop and two others left car wrecks on the sidewalks.

Man dies after Drysdale motorcycle accident
A man has died following a crash in Drysdale this morning. Officers were told a motorcycle travelling east on the Drysdale bypass crashed into a guard rail between High Street and Princess Street about 4.45am. Emergency services rendered assistance to the male rider before he was air-lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The rider, a 43-year-old Portarlington man, died in hospital.
