Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after car collides with multiple pedestrians
Police arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after three people were taken to hospital.
On Saturday, a 34-year-old Somalia-born British man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and attempted murder after a vehicle struck five pedestrians in Ealing Broadway, West London, at 2.29pm.
The driver fled the scene at Ealing Broadway but was stopped a short time later in nearby Grange Park, where Metropolitan Police officers apprehended him.
London Ambulance Service paramedics treated three patients at the scene and transported one to a major trauma centre, while two others received care on-site; none suffered life-threatening injuries.
While investigators are keeping an open mind regarding potential motives, Counter Terrorism Policing London confirmed the incident is not currently being treated as terrorism.
Metropolitan Police officers closed the Broadway between High Street and Spring Bridge Road, instructing witnesses to contact police on 101 providing reference 4607/27JUN.
