Malaysia's PM Is Launching an AI Clone of Himself
PMX AI is trained on Anwar Ibrahim’s speeches and government records to guide Malaysians through services, training and job placements.
- Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will debut an autonomous AI-driven avatar, PMX, within days to assist citizens with government services. Built by Zetrix, the system uses his speeches and writings to create a responsive digital stand-in.
- Launched by Parti Keadilan Rakyat , the project cultivates Ibrahim's image as a tech-forward leader ahead of national elections required by early 2028. The avatar serves as a campaign asset to engage younger voters.
- Zetrix director Wong said the 'personal knowledge' model is fed Ibrahim's remarks to sharpen real-time responses in English and Malay. Unlike simple chatbots, the system acts agentically to complete tasks like license renewals or career advising.
- While leaders like Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have used AI-generated messaging, Malaysia's initiative goes further by automating bureaucratic processes. President Lee Jae Myung previously utilized an AI-driven avatar to answer voters' questions during his campaign.
