The wolf has residents and businesses in parts of the Netherlands firmly in its grip. Dog owners and families are barely daring to venture into the woods, with consequences for local hospitality businesses. Reporter Suzette Nesselaar spoke with them on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug in the Nieuws van de dag (News of the Day). Laurens Hoedemaker of the Royal Dutch Hunters' Association warns of the danger and doesn't rule out a fatal outcome.
In Epe, "the limit has been reached" when it comes to the wolf's presence in the area. "This cannot and must not continue," states a majority of the parties on the municipal council. In a motion, they call on the municipal council and the national government to take action.
