Lithuanian politicians are increasingly keen to thaw relations with China. The Chinese severed them four years ago when the Taiwanese embassy was opened in Lithuania. After US President Donald Trump launched a tariff war with China, Lithuania's ruling party has spoken about warmer diplomatic relations with the Chinese, but has stressed that it will not apologize for the past or betray its values.
