After the Mayor’s recent remarks praising James Shea’s job performance, I would be neglectful if I did not speak on behalf of the men and women of the Jersey City Police Superior Officers Association and the residents of this city. Jersey City police did not grow or improve under his leadership. In fact, one could easily argue that James Shea set the department—and the community it serves—back significantly.
