Maxwell's lawyers made the claim Wednesday in a court filing, according to Fox News, which also sought to get her a lighter sentence. The British socialite was found guilty in December on five of six counts related to the abuse and trafficking of underage girls by her former boyfriend Epstein between 1994 and 2004.
