LAPEER, MI — While most Independence Day celebrations have wrapped up across the region, Lapeer is still preparing for its big fireworks show this weekend, possibly for the last time.
Fireworks Display Has Become An Annual Event
The Pierce Alumni Weekend fireworks display, organized and conducted by members of the Pierce Volunteer Fire Department, didn’t let anyone down. The display, choreographed to music broadcast on a short range radio frequency, has been a community event since Pierce’s 125th anniversary in 1996, almost 29 years.
