Police said the 22-year-old actress was found hanging in her bedroom, and investigators registered an accidental-death case after her father’s complaint.
On Sunday, June 14, actor Sanchita Ugale was found dead at her Nalasopara residence in an alleged suicide between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The 22-year-old was widely recognized for playing Diya Tandon in 'Kumkum Bhagya.'
Assistant Police Inspector Vinod Bagh of Achole Police Station reported Ugale locked her bedroom from inside and allegedly hanged herself with a saree from a ceiling fan. Police registered an accidental death case following a complaint from her father, Machinda Ugale.
Ugale was building a career in television and film, appearing in 'Wagle Ki Duniya' and playing the lead in 'Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi.' She also featured in films 'Chhaava' and 'Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.'
Hours before her death, Ugale posted an Instagram reel singing 'Dafli Wale,' leaving fans shocked as they flooded her social media comments section to express grief and disbelief. The sudden tragedy prompted widespread emotional reactions online.
