CLEARFIELD — On most afternoons, Alan McCracken, 15, of Clearfield can be seen paddling in a long and sleek racing kayak on the West Branch of the Susquehanna between the Hyde Bridge and the Lower Witmer Park in Clearfield.
Žiga Lin Hočevar is the only Slovenian finalist in the Canoe World Cup in the French city of Pau. The young Hočevar was fifth in the qualifications, 2.82 seconds behind the winner, Polish Kacper Sztubo. Luka Božič was 13th, and Benjamin Savšek was 22nd. There will be no Slovenian female canoeists in the final.
