Dallas rapper Yella Beezy's murder-for-hire bond reduced to $750,000
- Rapper Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, was arrested last week and indicted by a Dallas County grand jury this past Thursday for allegedly orchestrating the murder of fellow rapper Mo3, whose real name is Melvin Noble, in Dallas.
- The alleged murder was an ambush-style shooting that occurred in broad daylight in November 2020 on Interstate 35.
- Prosecutors presented a video showing the alleged hitman, Kewon Dontrell White, shooting at Noble, who got out of his car and ran before being shot in the back several times, resulting in 44 bullet casings being recovered from the scene.
- During a Wednesday morning court hearing, where Yella Beezy appeared for a bond reduction, prosecutors stated a witness will testify that Conway was part of a conversation about payment for Noble's murder, and defense attorneys argued they had no evidence connecting their client to a murder-for-hire plot, with Judge Lewis noting Conway didn't seem to take the financial statement seriously.
- Judge Lewis reduced Conway's initial $2 million bond to $750,000 with conditions including no contact with victims or witnesses, after hearing testimony from Conway's grandmother, Alma Jean Alexander, who stated he couldn't afford the original bond and after prosecutors questioned if she agreed that her grandson is substantially wealthy.
