Three years ago, California rejected a bill that would have banned child marriage. Today, Kate Yang, a former Fresno resident, Hmong activist and child-marriage survivor, is determined to change that. Child marriage is legal in 34 states, four of which have no minimum age to get married. These states include Oklahoma, Mississippi, New Mexico and California.
