Portland man sues police after getting high on mushrooms and marijuana and burning his fingers off

A man from Portland has filed a lawsuit against Portland police after losing all but two fingers and receiving burns to 30% of his body. Michael Relloque IV had consumed both mushrooms and marijuana and in his intoxicated state had fallen into the fire, he claims that police officers should have done more to save him. Relloque took his case to court this month. He was asking for $17.5 million from the city and three police officers for damages. …

A federal jury on Tuesday rejected claims that the city of West Linn and three of its police officers were negligent for not entering a home to help a man hallucinating on mushrooms and smelling of burned skin.
