The Higher University Council of the National University of Colombia (Unal) appointed, in an extraordinary session, José Ismael Peña Reyes as rector for the period 2024 - 2027. He was ahead of Leopoldo Múnera, who had won university appointments. He comes in to replace Dolly Montoya.
