Jay Paterno: Penn State will 'swing for the fences' in search likely to include Matt Rhule

After James Franklin was fired on Sunday, Oct. 12, Jay Paterno said he plans to stay out of the national coaching search while the Penn State Board of Trustees retains contract-approval authority.
Matt Rhule, Nebraska's head coach and Penn State alumnus, said `I'm really happy here,` on Monday, Oct. 13 and will only discuss the Penn State job with his wife, while his family loves living in Nebraska.
Expectations are that the search will target elite-level coaches, with Jay Paterno saying Pat Kraft, Penn State athletic director, will run an aggressive search.
Nebraska travels to Minnesota on Friday, Oct. 17, where the Cornhuskers will look to become bowl eligible, before visiting Penn State in Happy Valley on Nov. 22.
