Bolivia has 2,423 varieties of potato and the National Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Innovation (Iniaf) has worked in recent years to improve its performance, reported the national manager of the Papa-Yuca del Iniaf project, Johnny González. “The country currently registers 2,423 types of potato varieties, we are the center of origin of the potato,” he explained in connection with the commemoration of the International Pope’s Day.
