Hull City Hand 'Perfect' Coach Sergej Jakirovic New Contract
Jakirovic won promotion in his first season and opened the new campaign with consecutive Premier League victories, prompting a longer deal.
Hull City has signed Sergej Jakirovic to a new two-year contract, securing his future at the club until summer 2028 with an option for the Tigers to extend the deal by a further 12 months.
Initially hired last summer to keep City in the Championship, The Bosnian manager overcame early struggles to guide the club to Premier League promotion, securing the top-flight spot with a victory at Wembley.
Jakirovic currently has City sitting third in the Premier League table after beating Manchester United and Coventry City, having integrated 18 new signings slowly into the squad.
Hull City chairman Acun Ilicali, who holidayed with the coach this summer, called the appointment 'perfect' and praised their 'special relationship' and the manager's high quality.
Reflecting on his arrival in East Yorkshire, Jakirovic said, "Hull feels like my home and I'm excited for this journey to continue," emphasizing fan support since he arrived.
