Ixelles mulls introduction of underground rubbish bins

Ixelles, a Brussels municipality 12 minutes south of the Belgian capital, is exploring the installation of underground rubbish containers as an alternative to people leaving their waste bags out on the streets. “Rubbish bags on the streets are out of date,” said Ixelles councillor Gerard Oosterwijk. “We should look at the many examples of European metropolises where they put waste underground.”… Source
