Italy Coach Quesada Banned for Two Games
World Rugby said the automatic ban follows broadcast criticism of referee Luc Ramos and will keep Quesada off the sideline for two Tests.
On Thursday, World Rugby issued an automatic two-match suspension to Italy coach Gonzalo Quesada, barring him from all match-day activity and stadium presence.
Quesada faced sanctions after calling French referee Luc Ramos "super poor" in a broadcast interview following Italy's 47-17 loss to the All Blacks in Wellington.
World Rugby applied its new Match Official Abuse Sanction Process, introduced this month, targeting reduction of comments that fuel abuse toward match officials.
The Italian Rugby Federation noted the ruling and stated it will appeal, while Quesada will miss Italy's upcoming matches against Australia in Perth and South Africa in Turin.
Italy currently sits at the bottom of the Northern Hemisphere standings, while Quesada previously criticized the Nations Championship schedule after traveling from Tokyo to Wellington.
