The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important energy chokepoints. It connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. This sea route lies between Iran (north) and Oman (south). Iran closed this passage on Tuesday and fired missiles at it in a display of its strength.
