Germany's foreign intelligence service (BND) regularly monitored the phone calls of then-US President Barack Obama without permission from Chancellor Angela Merkel, German media reported.
While Merkel lamented the NSA affair, the BND apparently heard for itself: after new revelations, talks were intercepted by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
It was revealed in 2013 that the Americans had been tapping the German Chancellor's mobile phone calls.
