- Kyle Jamieson will make his comeback after a side strain that ruled him out of the ODI series against England, while Ish Sodhi returns to the squad as New Zealand’s most-capped T20I player.
- Mitchell Santner will captain the Black Caps with Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman and others named, while Matt Henry will take a short break to rehab his calf, coach Rob Walter said.
- Blair Tickner was left out despite his man-of-the-series showing, and the tour forms part of a multi-format tour with five T20Is, three ODIs, and three Tests.
