A woman and a man accused of sexual relations outside of marriage and alcohol consumption have been subjected to one of the most serious penalties since the Indonesian province of Aceh has adopted the Sharia law, reports BBC and The Guardian, city of News.ro.
The province of Aceh is the only one to apply sharia law, the Koranic law that severely punishes crimes of "mours". Since 1 January, all Indonesia has banned relations outside marriage.
