A 33-year-old man died in a Queensville house fire; authorities including Indiana State Police and Fire Marshal investigate the cause amid freezing conditions.
- On Feb. 1, Indiana State Police said they are investigating after firefighters found a 33-year-old man dead inside a home at the 4500 block of North County Road 350 West in Queensville, Indiana.
- The Jennings County Sheriff's Office received calls reporting a house fire and deputies with North Vernon Police Department arrived within minutes, attempting to access the smoke-filled residence after reports someone might be inside.
- Firefighters with the Scipio-Geneva Township Fire Department arrived shortly after and extinguished the blaze despite frigid temperatures, soon locating the body of an adult male with help from other county fire departments.
- Officials say an autopsy will be conducted to determine the man's manner and cause of death, while the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office will investigate the cause of the fire.
- Multiple agencies including Jennings County EMS, the Coroner's Office, the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office, and the Red Cross responded, and the Jennings County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as Kody A. Perry, 33, with Perry's family notified.
