The rivals are grouped with Australia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and a qualifier, and India will open against Australia before the October 10 meeting.
On Thursday, the International Cricket Council unveiled the 2027 Cricket World Cup schedule, with the tournament starting October 2, 2027, across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
The tournament features 14 teams competing across 12 venues in 57 matches, with an initial group stage followed by a Super 7 phase before the November 21, 2027 final.
Competing in Group A, India faces Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and a qualifier, opening their campaign against Australia on October 7, 2027, under captain Shubman Gill.
The Wanderers in Johannesburg hosts the India-Pakistan clash on October 10, 2027, at a high-scoring venue nicknamed the 'Bullring' that will also stage the tournament final.
Advancement to the Super 7 stage requires finishing in the top three of each group or being the best fourth-placed team, with semi-finals set for November 17 and 18, 2027.
