Ukraine Seeks Release of Citizens Arrested in India over Alleged Myanmar Drone Activity
The National Investigation Agency alleges the detainees supplied drones to insurgent networks and trained ethnic armed groups, charging them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

- According to court filings, the six Ukrainians were part of 14 nationals who entered India on tourist visas and flew to Guwahati; three were detained at Lucknow and three at Delhi airports and remanded Saturday, while seized phones were sent to CERT‑IN for data extraction.
- On Monday, the court extended custody until March 27 as the NIA said it needs to find the mastermind and funding source behind the alleged plot.
- The NIA says the interrogations disclosed contact with unknown terrorists with AK‑47 rifles, who supported proscribed Indian insurgent groups by supplying weapons and drone capabilities, investigators allege.
