ICE Arrests Chicago Area Cop for Alleged Visa Overstay
Radule Bojovic overstayed a tourist visa since 2015 but was legally hired and paid $205,707 by taxpayers; he is on leave pending immigration proceedings.
- On Oct. 15, Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Hanover Park police officer Radule Bojovic during Operation Midway Blitz and held him at the Clay County Justice Center.
- DHS says Radule Bojovic overstayed a B2 tourist visa requiring departure on March 31, 2015, and identifies him as a native of Montenegro who remained in the U.S. illegally for over a decade.
- Hanover Park records show he graduated from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy, began 15 weeks of field training, and was approved for a starting salary of $78,955.70.
- The Hanover Park Police Department placed Radule Bojovic on administrative leave and said he will return to duty if legally permitted to remain and work in the U.S.
- Homeland Security says the blitz has produced more than 1,500 arrests statewide, including recent cases like an Iowa school district leader last month and a Maine police officer earlier this year.

At this point, we don’t know much about Radule Bojovic, who “was working as a sworn police officer with the Hanover Park Police Department in sanctuary state Illinois” even though DHS claims he’s “an illegal alien from Montenegro”. Either ICE has its facts wrong or somebody (and maybe many somebodys) in the Land of Lincoln is in a lot of trouble.

A suburban Chicago police officer arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Thursday was legally authorized to work in the U.S. and had completed a full background check by the FBI, according to the Village of Hanover Park, where he was employed.
