Police are looking to carry out wanding operations in the Hunter, in an effort to deter knife crime. Charlestown will be among the areas targeted, following two alleged stabbings last week.

Police have charged 10 people on 17 offences as part of high visibility patrols and wanding operations in the Maryborough Central Business District (CBD). Beginning on 31 July, police weekly saturate the CBD area, including shopping centres and parks, focused on making the community safe and feel safe.
