Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert is stepping down as envoy to Lebanon, the United Nations announced Friday evening. She is taking up a new position: Under-Secretary-General for Security and Safety at the UN Department for Security and Safety (UNDSS). She succeeds Canadian Gilles Michaud.
