The most beautiful small town in Läänemaa – this is the affectionate name given to Rist by local Läänemaa journalists in the early 1930s. Rist has developed on the lands of the former Koluvere manor. There were four farms in the small town area, of which only one has survived: Siima, located in the central part of the small town.
