In view of the closing of the category 125 tournament of the WTA, the British Heather Watson became the first tennis player classified to the semifinals of the Puerto Vallarta Open 2025. After a two-set victory against the Canadian, Marina Stakusic, by partials of 6-3 and 6-1, the English woman agreed to the anteroom of the final, seeking to conquer her fifth professional title within the white sport.
