Faced with the high risk of fire due to heat and drought, the Prefect of the Charente tightened the rules until 15 July 2026 for farmers and in the forest.
Article 1: Smoking and use of fire, including cooking and wake lamps, in all woods and forests and within 200 metres of them shall be prohibited. Article 2: Movement of motorized vehicles, whether thermal or electrical, shall be prohibited from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on roads and roads passing through or along woods and forests. Traffic on covered roads open to public circulation shall continue to be permitted.
