More than 1,200 public health professionals urge ‘swift’ action on smoking bill
An open letter signed by more than 1,200 public health directors, doctors, academics and others is urging politicians to ensure the ‘swift passage’ of the tobacco and vapes bill, as it enters its committee stage in the House of Lords. The bill – which will make it illegal to sell tobacco to anyone born after January 2009, as well as crack down on the marketing of vapes to children – is an ‘historic opportunity to protect future generations’.
