UPDATE: Todd Eddington, who runs the Crooked Wood County “Justice” System Part III page on Facebook, and friend to Mayor Deborah Lynn Rushing, has been arrested for tampering with government records and is being held at the Wood County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Hawkins Mayor Deborah Lynn Rushing, 46, was booked into the Wood County Jail on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, on a charge of tampering with a governmental record. Her bond has been set at $10,000. The Texas Rangers are leading the investigation. Also arrested on the same charge was 51-year-old Matthew Todd Eddington, also of Hawkins. His bond was likewise set at $10,000.
