Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that the government has coordinated with the WHO regarding the Hantavirus case on the cruise ship MV Hondius. The Ministry of Health is now preparing screening measures and strengthening surveillance to prevent the virus from spreading to Indonesia.
A Swiss man returning from a trip to South America has been hospitalized in Zurich for treatment of the Andes virus, which can be transmitted from person to person.
