Crime Stoppers of Halton launch human trafficking campaign
A new regional effort to combat human trafficking has been launched by Crime Stoppers of Halton, in partnership with local police and national agencies. The initiative aims to raise awareness and encourage anonymous tips that could lead to arrests with a potential $2,000 reward
There is broad support in the Lower House for a bill that should make it easier to track down and prosecute perpetrators of human trafficking. During a debate on this on Thursday, NSC, ChristenUnie, VVD, CDA, SP and GroenLinks-PvdA, among others, were positive about the plan. Members of Parliament do propose a number of adjustments, for example to be able to take better action against exploitation within a marriage.
